Turkish police keeps records of Marx, Lenin

Undercover policemen took photos of Marx, Lenin, and other revolutionary figures’ posters held by the Communist Party of Turkey at the May Day rally in İstanbul.

People attending the May Day rally in Bakırköy, İstanbul were put through unusual scrutiny. They were inspected by the police before attending the crowd for celebrations. Undercover policemen took photos of each banner and poster.

Undercover policemen took photos of Marx, Lenin, Nazım Hikmet, Behice Boran and Yılmaz Güney posters held by the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) members trying to join the crowd at the May Day rally in Bakırköy, İstanbul.

Posters held by members of the Communist Party of Turkey were photographed by the police and then sent to chief officers via social media applications. Approved posters were placed on record and let into the rally.
