Mass mobilisation at the centenary of the October Revolution declared at FGC’s Guerrilla Camp

FGC’s summer camp was held in Roccella Ionica on the first week of August. A mass mobilisation to be held at the centenary of the October Revolution was declared during the camp.

The 4th summer camp of the Front of Communist Youth (FGC) was held in a Roccella Ionica in Southern Italy. The camp was held between 31 July and 6 August and saw more than 150 participants. Camp “Guerilla”s main goal was to prepare the FGC members for the next school season and to get ready for their militant works.

One of the main differences from the camps held in previous years was the participation of international delegates from the Collectives of Communist Youth (CJC) from Spain, Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) and Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG). August 2 was devoted to an international seminar, where international delegates made detailed presentations about conditions of their struggles among the youth of their own countries.

On the campsite were organised sectoral working groups and political exercises for the training of militants. On the last day, the Central Committee meeting was devoted to the planning of the struggles of the coming months.

Lorenzo Lang, national secretary of the FGC, underlined that they are going to face a challenging year. He commented, “The FGC has launched an appeal to build a major national mobilisation on the centenary of the October Revolution on November 7th. School-work alternation will come to full force in this school year and it is our job to be at the forefront of struggles and student mobilisations, as well as at universities. We are returning from this campsite week to face all these challenges, with the awareness of the importance of what we are building and increasingly determined to make the Communist Youth Front a major point of reference for young people.”
